Samsung Galaxy S III has fetched 9 million pre-orders already and no wonder why it is the talk of the town these days. Even before the device hit the shelves, one of the renowned developer chainfire came up with insecure root kernel that roots the Galaxy S III firmware.
S-Voice_SGS3
Now here is another big one. SGS3 ICS firmware is leaked and available for download! Several developers are jumping on to the firmware to extract the new features. Among that is the S-Voice app, which is a voice-based interaction with the phone similar to Siri in the iPhone. S-Voice is now available for download and can be installed on your android device running ICS firmware.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Rooted android phone with ICS installed
  • Download S-Voice of SGS3
  • Root explorer (paid app) or Super manager (free app) installed
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Some how copy the downloaded voicetalk.apk to the phone’s SD card.
  2. On the phone, launch Root explorer or Super manager app and go to > sdcard folder and copy the voicetalk.apk file.
  3. Now go to system > app and click to change the Mount R/W button to Mount R/O.
  4. Paste the copied file now.
  5. Long press the voicetalk.apk and press permissions and change it to r-w, r, r.
  6. Reboot the phone.
  7. Launch Root explorer or Super manager app, go to system/app and tap on the voiceyalk.apk and install it. If the app is not there in that location, redo it.
That’s it. You are done with the installation of S-Voice on your ICS-based phone.
Since this method is a port, some things don’t work in S-Voice. For example, the command “Wake Up Galaxy!” may not work. Do try it and let us know in comments below. Some guys are reporting Network error as the app works through the Samsung servers. This problem is understandable as Samsung could be still be in the setup process because Samsung has blocked the requests of S-Voice from a non-Samsung Galaxy SIII phone.
